Shah Alam teen suffers knife injuries fleeing would-be kidnappers, cops investigating

PETALING JAYA: A male teenager suffered cuts to his face and arms after managing to break free from would-be kidnappers in Seksyen 13, Shah Alam, on Monday (April 28) night, says the police.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the 15-year old victim is believed to have been jogging alone around Seksyen 13 at around 5:15pm when he was approached by an old grey car.

He said the car was occupied by two unknown men, who stopped the victim before stepping out of the car and brandishing a knife at him, trying to force him into the car.

“The victim refused and struggled with the suspects before successfully managing to escape to a nearby condominium guardhouse for help.

“The victim suffered a cut on the right cheek as well as injuries to both his right and left arms, and has been taken to a hospital for further treatment,” he said in a press statement on Tuesday (April 29).

ACP Mohd Iqbal said investigations into the case were now being carried out under Section 363 for kidnapping, and Section 511 of the Penal Code, for attempts to commit any crime.

He said the investigations were also being conducted under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt through dangerous weapons or means.

“Any individuals with further information can contact the investigating officer, Insp Mohamad Sabri Rani, at 017-289 2628,” he added.
