MACC nabs four including 'Datuk Seri' over false claims of RM360mil

PETALING JAYA: Four individuals, including a "Datuk Seri" have been arrested for allegedly putting in false information for claims of about RM360mil involving a highway project.

It is learnt that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission arrested the four – three men and a woman – on Tuesday (April 29).

The suspects, aged from 50 to 70, were arrested between 4pm and 6pm at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya after recording their statements.

Sources with knowledge of the investigation said the suspects are believed to have submitted the claims in 2016 and 2017.

"The suspects are believed to have submitted false claims for the construction of a highway project in the Klang Valley worth RM1.3bil," said a source.

MACC senior director of investigation Datuk Zainul Darus confirmed the arrests.

He said the suspects would be taken to the Putrajaya Magistrate's Court to be remanded.
