KUALA LUMPUR: Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Bhd (CGC) president and chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Zamree Mohd Ishak has won the Distinguished Person of the Year award from the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (Adfiap).
Mohd Zamree, who accepted the award in Muscat, Oman, said it was an honour not solely for himself but all who shaped and supported his journey.
“Throughout my career, I have always believed that leadership is not defined by titles, but by action and influence.
“In CGC Group, I promote leadership at all levels. By nurturing an environment where individuals are empowered to take initiative and lead within their spheres, we unlock the collective strength of our people.
“This principle has driven innovation and resilience within the CGC Group,” he said.
He said a cornerstone of CGC Group’s strategy is the seamless integration of people, process and technology.
“While sound processes and advanced technologies are essential, it is our people that drive transformation.
“By investing in their growth and aligning their strengths with efficient systems and digital tools, we achieved outcomes that are not only sustainable but impactful and this will continue for many years to come,” he said.
Mohd Zamree also extended appreciation to CGC chairman Datuk Mohammed Hussein and board members, noting how their guidance and leadership have been a source of strength.
“To all my colleagues in CGC Group, this award belongs to you,” he said.
Adfiap is the focal point of all development banks and other financial institutions engaged in the financing of development in the Asia-Pacific region. Its mission is to advance sustainable development through its members.
Founded in 1976, Adfiap currently has 97 member-institutions in 42 countries.
The Asian Development Bank is a special member of the association.
Adfiap is also a founding member of the World Federation of Development Financing Institutions composed of regional associations in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Middle East.
It is a non-governmental organisation in consultative status with the United Nations’ Economic and Social Council.
