Fire engulfs Port Klang chemicals warehouse


PORT KLANG: A warehouse storing papers and chemicals here has been engulfed in a fire on Thursday (April 24).

The incident involving the warehouse at Bandar Sultan Suleiman in Port Klang occurred at about 10.10am.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said more than 27 firemen from six fire stations were dispatched to the scene.

"The warehouse was about 40% burnt when the operation commander arrived on scene.

"The fire is still raging, and firemen are in the process of putting out the fire," he said in a statement on Thursday.
