Haze: Selangor schools open on Oct 23, barring outdoor activities

PETALING JAYA: All schools and educational institutions under the Education Ministry in Selangor will continue operating as usual on Friday (Oct 23).

However, all outdoor activities will be suspended as a precautionary measure.

The Selangor Education Department, in a statement on Thursday, advised students and staff to wear face masks to protect from the haze.

The department also said parents and guardians who were concerned about their children's health due to the haze could choose not to send them to school.

However, they must inform the school of their children's absence.

The department urged all parties to stay alert to the latest developments and follow advice from the relevant authorities on the haze.

It stressed that the safety, health and well-being of students and education personnel remained its top priority.
