Beggar fatally stabbed in turf war outside bank in Shah Alam


SHAH ALAM: A 40-year-old beggar was killed after he was stabbed several times by another beggar in front of a bank at Seksyen 18 here.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the police were alerted by the public at about 12pm on Thursday (April 24).

"The suspect got into a fight with the victim over begging turf, resulting in the former stabbing the victim on the chest several times," he said in a statement on Thursday.

The police managed to arrest the 28-year-old suspect at the crime scene, he said.

"He has prior criminal records, and he also tested negative for drugs.

"He will be remanded on Friday (April 25). We are investigating under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder," he said.

ACP Mohd Iqbal urged those with information to contact investigating officer Asst Supt Muhammad Abd Hafiz Sariee at 014-890 5051.
