Over 10,000 jobs available at next week's Labour Day Carnival

PUTRAJAYA: An estimated 10,000 job opportunities will be offered at the Labour Day Carnival this year, says Human Resources Minister Steven Sim.

He said the vacancies would be at government-linked companies (GLC) and private firms.

“There will be various activities and programmes throughout the three-day event at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil, including a career fair, exhibitions and a Labour Day rally that will be launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim,” he told reporters after his ministry's monthly assembly here on Tuesday (April 22).

Sim also said the government will be announcing several new policies and programmes during the carnival, scheduled for April 28 to May 1.

The carnival will feature pocket talks, interactive booths, skills demonstrations and the Labour Day Awards 2025 to celebrate the Malaysian workforce.

The ministry will also be launching a digital initiative through the introduction of the MYFutureJobs mobile application, Sim added.

The app is an initiative that aims to support an inclusive, responsive and sustainable workforce ecosystem.

Up to 50% discount on traffic summons will also be offered by the police at the carnival, in addition to services by the Road Transport Department.

More than 10,000 visitors are expected at the four-day event.
