A 60-SOMETHING woman was slapped by her adult child at a sundry shop when she asked for RM1, Kosmo! reported.

The woman was short RM1 while paying for her groceries and requested the amount from her child, who was waiting outside.

However, her child responded harshly, saying: “Do you think I’m a bank? It’s enough that I’m even accompanying you here.”

The child then slapped the mother on the cheek.

This was related by the shop owner, identified as Agness in a Threads post.

According to Agness, several other customers at the shop were taken aback over the situation.

“I promptly told the woman to just take what she needed,” Agness said.

> A 10-year-old girl from Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, has finally obtained a birth certificate, Berita Harian reported.

Kelantan National Registration Department (NRD) director Halimatusaadiah Ramli said that Rose Azwa Safrina Mohd Rithaudin’s birth certificate was issued under the late birth registration category.

This refers to births that are not registered within the stipulated 60-day period.

She said Rose Azwa was among the undocumented students under the government’s Mekar Didik programme.

Launched on Nov 17 last year, Mekar Didik is a joint effort between the Education Ministry and the NRD to help students who do not have identification documents such as birth certificate, MyKad or citizenship.
