We’re going all out to woo outstation voters, says Saarani

TAPAH: Barisan Nasional’s machinery is working hard to reach out to outstation voters with polling less than a week away, says Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.

The Perak Mentri Besar said besides calling them personally, various outreach platforms are being used to get out-of-town voters to return on April 26.

“We have positive feedback on the ground based on the campaign trail by our candidate (Dr Mohamad Yusri Bakir).

“But we must not take things for granted, as the voters need to return and cast their ballots. Every vote counts,” he told reporters after the Jelajah AIM TVET – Cikgu Saarani programme held at the Tapah Sports Complex here yesterday.

Saarani said Barisan is expected to unveil its manifesto for Ayer Kuning by tomorrow.

The Mentri Besar also mentioned that his team would engage in discussions with Mohamad Yusri, as he would be responsible for presenting the manifesto.

On April 15, Parti Sosialis Malaysia candidate KS Bawani became the first contender in the by-election to unveil a campaign manifesto, outlining three key pledges centred on inclusive development, improved infrastructure and more efficient local governance.

Perikatan Nasional’s candidate Abd Muhaimin Malek said addressing concerns from villagers related to their farmlands, such as wild animals damaging their crops, would be part of his manifesto, which will be unveiled soon.
