GRS-Pakatan coalition remains steady amid talks with Barisan on electoral pact

KOTA KINABALU: The stability of the state government led by Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and Pakatan Harapan is not affected as Sabah Barisan Nasional begins negotiations for an electoral pact.

Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) information chief Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titing said the stand made by Sabah Barisan-Umno chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin was their right and would not undermine the existing collaboration between GRS and Pakatan Plus.

"I do not want to comment at length; that is the right of each party.

"However, under the state government led by Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, Sabah is on the right track, in line with the direction of Sabah Maju Jaya," he said during a golf tournament here on Saturday (April 19).

Nizam, who is Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, said that the current government has many achievements, including increasing state revenue.

"Efforts are underway to resolve legacy issues from the previous government," he said.

Last week, Bung Moktar said that Sabah Barisan-Umno had agreed to work with Sabah Pakatan for the 17th Sabah Election.

He said several informal discussions had been held with Sabah Pakatan leaders and expect formal discussions to begin in the near future.
