KUALA LUMPUR: Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak arrived at Masjid Negara under heavy guard at about 10.30am on Tuesday (April 15).
He was escorted into the main prayer hall through the back entrance.
Najib paid his last respects to his predecessor Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi for a brief moment and left at 10.45am.
Najib, who is attending his 1MDB trial, was allowed to come pay his last respects.
Najib's defence made the request via a letter to the Prisons Department to the court to allow him to do so, which the prosecution did not object.
Pak Lah passed away peacefully at the National Heart Institute (IJN) at 7.10pm yesterday, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 85.
