Putra Heights inferno: Student victims receive aid from S'gor government


PUTRA HEIGHTS: Student victims of the Putra Heights gas pipeline fire have received over RM130,000 in aid, including allowances, laptops, tablets and power banks, from Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI).

Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari announced that MBI, under the Selangor state government, provided RM500 cash aid to 265 affected students at the Putra Heights Mosque victim relief centre on Friday.

The students also received 100 tablets and power banks to support their studies, courtesy of the Digital Ministry.

"Thanks to the ministry, 75 new laptops were also distributed to 38 school and 37 university students affected by the fire.

"The university students were also given RM200 book vouchers to help them replace their study materials lost to the flames of the fire,” he added.
