Motorcyclist killed in Kota Tinggi crash

KOTA TINGGI: A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) at the Felda Bukit Easter intersection near here.

Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Yusof Othman said the incident occurred along Jalan Ketapang in the Felda settlement at 9.45pm on Thursday (April 10).

“The initial investigation found that the 38-year-old driver of the MPV, a local woman, abruptly exited the intersection," he said in a statement on Friday (April 11).

Supt Yusof said the 36-year-old motorcyclist, a local man, failed to avoid the MPV and collided with it.

He sustained head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel, Supt Yusof said.

“The MPV driver was unhurt," he added.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
