Ayer Kuning polls: Tapah stands as a symbol of Barisan unity, says Dr Wee

TAPAH: The Tapah parliamentary constituency has long symbolised unity among the three core Barisan Nasional component parties, and as April 26 approaches, maintaining this legacy is crucial, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The MCA president highlighted that Tapah is one of the few areas in the country with the solid blue of Barisan Nasional.

"That’s why I said this place is unique, and it is our responsibility to ensure that we come out in full force to support the candidate on polling day.

"This is what I call a trio — Malay, Indian, Chinese — three elected representatives in one parliamentary constituency.

"You can’t find this anywhere else except here," he said during a speech at a dinner organised by the Tapah MCA division at the Coldstream New Village in Bidor on Saturday (April 11).

Also present were MCA deputy president Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon, Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, MIC deputy president Datuk Seri M. Saravanan, who is also the Tapah MP, and the Ayer Kuning Barisan Nasional candidate Dr Mohamad Yusri Bakir.

Dr Wee said that the candidate is familiar to many.

Saarani, in his speech, urged everyone to come out and vote for the Barisan candidate.

"We must ensure that we get all our family, friends, and neighbors to come out to vote for Dr Mohamad Yusri.

"If we have family outstation, we must encourage them to come back to vote.

"We cannot just say we support the candidate, but on polling day, we must come out in full force to show our real support," he said.
