KUALA LUMPUR: A police report has been lodged following a scuffle between vendors and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) officers here.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman, in a statement, said that the report was lodged on Saturday (March 29).

"The case has been classified under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant from discharging their duties," he said.

He added that during the incident, the DBKL officers were involved in a scuffle while in the middle of seizing items from the vendors.

"The police will conduct a fair and thorough investigation according to the laws at hand. Action will be taken on any parties deemed to have committed offences," he said.

It was previously reported that a commotion involving several groups of individuals and enforcement officers from the DBKL erupted on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman here on Friday (March 28).

The incident, which went viral on social media, is believed to have been caused by actions taken by DBKL enforcement officers against individuals accused of trading without a licence at the location.
