Events for Sabah Governor's birthday to take place in June

KOTA KINABALU: A host of activities will take place in June to mark the 74th birthday of the Yang Di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah Tun Musa Aman.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam Musa’s actual birthday is on March 30.

“In accordance with the Sabah Government Gazette, the official birthday of the governor falls on March 30.

However, celebrations will take place in the month of June, with seven official events taking place in Sabah during this period,” he said.

This would mark the first official birthday celebration for Musa since his appointment as the 11th Sabah Governor on Jan 1.

Four events will be held on June 21, including the parade ceremony, parade competition prize presentation, state awards and honours investiture ceremony and the state banquet.

The remaining events, namely a tahlil prayer, special prayers, and a thanksgiving prayer; the Sabah Ethnic Day and a tea reception with special needs children and orphans, will take place before June 21.
