Motorcyclist killed in Kota Tinggi crash


KOTA TINGGI: A 35-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an accident with a car at KM2 Jalan Kota Tinggi-Kluang near the Taman Kota Intan junction.

Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Yusof Othman said police received a report about the fatal crash at around 10pm on Monday (March 24).

“The accident involved a car driven by a 55-year-old local man and a motorcycle ridden by the victim.

“The motorcyclist sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (March 25).

Supt Yusof added that the victim’s body was sent to the forensic unit of Hospital Kota Tinggi for further investigation, while the driver was unharmed.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Supt Yusof urged road users to remain vigilant and obey traffic laws to ensure their safety.
