Farm supervisor dies after motorcycle accident involving junglefowl

PEKAN: A farm supervisor tragically lost his life after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a junglefowl, causing him to skid and crash into an electric pole in Kampung Simpai, Jalan Kuantan-Segamat, on Friday (March 14).

The incident occurred at around 7.38pm, reported Sinar Harian. The victim, Mohamad Razwan Aiykal Rejab, a 21-year-old from Kampung Nara, Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries.

Pekan District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Zaidi Mat Zin, stated that the victim was riding a sports bike on his way to Segamat when the accident occurred.

“Upon reaching the location, the victim’s motorcycle struck a junglefowl that suddenly crossed the road, causing him to lose control and skid. The motorcycle then collided with a sedan driven by a 41-year-old man before crashing into an electric pole on the left side of the road,” he explained in a statement on Saturday (March 15).

As a result of the collision, the victim was confirmed dead at the scene due to serious injuries, while the driver of the Nissan Almera escaped without any injuries.

Mohd Zaidi further noted that police investigations revealed the accident resulted from the negligence of the motorcyclist, who failed to maintain control after hitting the junglefowl.

This case is currently under investigation in accordance with Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
