More flights to Sarawak for Aidilfitri

KUCHING: Batik Air, Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) and AirAsia have agreed to add additional flights to Sarawak for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri season.

Sarawak Transport Minister Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin said the extra flights are needed to accommodate the surge in travel demand during the festive season.

"From March 26 to April 6, the three airlines would add extra flights between Kuala Lumpur and Kuching, Sibu, Miri and Bintulu - to ease travel congestion and ensure Sarawakians can reunite with their families and loved ones," he said in a statement here Thursday (March 13).

He also encouraged travellers to book their tickets early to secure their travel plans.

"My ministry will continue to collaborate with major airlines to ensure sufficient flight capacity to meet public demand," he added. - Bernama
