Immigration officer killed in Melaka accident


MELAKA: An Immigration Department officer has been killed after his car rammed into a slow-moving lorry along Jalan Seri Negeri in Ayer Keroh.

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit identified the deceased as Mohd Fadzli Ramli, 40, from Kampung Bukit Nibong Paya Dalam, who died on the spot due to head injuries in the 4pm accident on Friday (March 7).

He said the deceased's car rammed into the rear of the lorry near the Seri Negeri roundabout.

ACP Christopher Patit said the 41-year-old lorry driver was unhurt.

He said the lorry was transporting landscaping materials and was on the right side of the road.

He added that the accident is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
