Cops nab man connected to 2025 intimidation case

PETALING JAYA: A road dispute allegedly escalated into a criminal intimidation case after a man was said to have acted aggressively and threatened another motorist in Cheras last year.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Rosdi Daud said police received a report from a local man on Sept 11, 2025, over the incident.

He said the complainant was driving home with his family when an unidentified vehicle suddenly overtook and stopped abruptly in front of them.

“The complainant and his wife approached the suspect to ask about the incident in a civil manner. However, the suspect reacted aggressively and allegedly issued criminal threats against the complainant,” he said in a statement on Saturday (Feb 21).

ACP Mohd Rosdi said a man in his late 30s was arrested on Feb 10 to assist in investigations.

He said the suspect was remanded for two days from Feb 11 to Feb 12 and was later released on police bail.

“Checks revealed the suspect has 10 past records but is not currently wanted. A urine screening test also returned negative for drugs,” he said.

He added that the incident is believed to have stemmed from a misunderstanding over traffic movement between the complainant and the suspect.

The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
