Ipoh cops nab four robbers at Jelapang vehicle warehouse


IPOH: The police have arrested four men for suspected robbery at a vehicle warehouse in Jelapang.

Acting Ipoh OCPD Supt Mohamad Sajidan Abdul Sukor said the arrests were made after receiving a report from the premises supervisor who discovered the act in progress on Friday (Feb 28).

"Swift action by the police led to the arrest of four men aged between 25 and 50 years old.

"We also seized equipment, which included four cutters, a manhole opener, jump cables, gloves, remote control and a four-wheel-drive vehicle," he said in a statement Saturday (March 1).

"All those arrested also tested positive for methamphetamine," he added.

Supt Mohamad Sajidan said all four individuals had criminal records, with 48 previous offences between them.

"The first suspect has 13 previous criminal offences and seven related to drugs.

"The second suspect has eight cases, including drug-related offences, the third also had eight while the fourth had 12 prior offences," he said.

"We have obtained a court order to remand all four men until March 5 to facilitate investigations under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for armed robbery.

"The police welcome the public to channel any information related to crime to the district police control centre at 05-254 2222 or the nearest police station," he added.
