Singer found dead, man nabbed


MELAKA: Police have arrested a 54-year-old man to assist in the alleged murder of a mother of three at Taman Seri Mangga in Malim here.

The victim, a 52-year-old part-time singer, was found in a pool of blood by her housemate at the house on Sunday.

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit said police are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

“Sharp weapons allegedly used by the suspect have been also recovered,” he said, adding that a witness told police that on Friday, a heated argument between the suspect and the victim was heard.

ACP Patit urged anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and contact investigating officer Asst Supt V. Somsundram at 06-284 2222.
