Police record statements in probe into death of disabled man at LRT station

KUALA LUMPUR: The police have recorded statements from four people in their investigation into the death of a visually-impaired man who fell and was hit by a train at the Titiwangsa Light Rail Transit (LRT) Station on Saturday (Feb 22).

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari said they have recorded statements from four individuals, including the person who lodged the police report and LRT staff.

"So far, we have not been able to identify the victim," he said.

On Saturday, Senior Fire Officer I Fadil Hesam Mohd, the Operations Commander, said the Kuala Lumpur Operations Unit of the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM) received a call about the incident at 8.38am.

A team of officers and personnel from the Sentul Fire and Rescue Station and the Titiwangsa Fire Station Assistance was dispatched to the scene.

The victim was found under the railway track and was confirmed dead.

Preliminary investigations suggest the victim fell onto the tracks before being hit by a passing train.
