Former PM Ismail Sabri now in stable condition, fully regains consciousness

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who was rushed to hospital after he was found unconscious early Saturday (Feb 22), is now in stable condition.

His aide, Azran Fitri Rahim, said the former prime minister had fainted at home at around 2.30am on Saturday (Feb 22) due to high blood pressure.

"Thank God, his condition stabilised this afternoon and he is fully conscious.

"However, he still requires close monitoring by doctors at a hospital in Damansara.

"Doctors have also advised that he should not receive visitors for now until he fully recovers," he said in an Instagram post on Saturday.

He added that only close family members are allowed to visit Ismail Sabri.

"Thank you to everyone who prayed for him to recover," he added.

The Bera MP, 65, was Malaysia's ninth prime minister from August 2021 to November 2022. He was also Umno vice-president from 2018 to 2023.
