PETALING JAYA: No action has been taken against Lim Guan Eng’s aide Tan Khong Chong over his recent outburst against Penang DAP chairman Steven Sim, says DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke (pic).

According to Loke, the DAP disciplinary committee hasn’t received any official comments from any party members regarding the incident.

“If there is a complaint, of course there will be an investigation by the disciplinary committee, it is a normal process.

“As a party, we have a disciplinary committee. If there are any issues raised by members’ complaints, then the committee will take the necessary action to investigate the issue,” said Loke when met by reporters during an event in Subang on Wednesday (Feb 19).

Loke also said Tan has apologised over his outburst against Sim.

“The person he shouted at has also accepted his apology,” added Loke.

On Monday (Feb 17), Batu Kawan DAP Youth called for disciplinary action to be taken against Tan for contravening party ethics with his open outburst.

It was recently reported that a close aide of a top DAP leader had berated Sim at the end of an appreciation dinner in honour of party veteran Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang.

In a video which has gone viral, the man was heard yelling in Hokkien at first and later heard labelling Sim as a “Fan Guat Zai” (traitor) in Cantonese.

Sim, however, remained unperturbed and continued taking pictures with his supporters.
