CM: Ensure implementation of development projects on schedule

KOTA KINABALU: Elected representatives and grassroots leaders must oversee and ensure that development projects in their respective areas are completed on schedule, says Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

"I have been telling them to plan and see what the needs of the people are. The village heads (Ketua Kampung) and village security and development committees must be proactive in this manner," he said when met after visiting the Rumah Mesra SMJ and minor project sites in his Sulaman constituency in Tuaran near Monday (Feb 17).

Regarding the Rumah Mesra SMJ poor housing project, the Chief Minister said the state's overall implementation was satisfactory so far.

Earlier, Hajiji visited Kampung Lok Batik, Kampung Pendamai, Kampung Tambalang, Kampung Indai and Kampung Serusup to get an overview of projects in the Sulaman constituency.

These included the upgrading of gravel roads to concrete surface at Kampung Lok Batik and Kampung Pandamai, Rumah Mesra SMJ at Kampung Indai and Kampung Serusup and the construction of concrete drains at Kampung Tambalang.

The Chief Minister ended his visit at the completed Serusup-Penimbawan jetty at Kampung Serusup
