Teen dies after fall from condo

KOTA KINABALU: A teenage girl tragically died after falling from a high-rise condominium at Inanam here.

Kota Kinabalu OCPD Asst Comm Kasim Muda said the incident was reported by a security guard, who heard a loud thud like something hitting the car, around 6.30am on Sunday (Feb 16).

He said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

"The deceased had been living with her foster family following her father's death last year. Her guardian said that she had been showing signs of depression due to her father's passing," ACP Kasim explained.

He said the guardian noticed that the girl had locked herself in her room and upon gaining access, they saw blood and a knife on the floor.

ACP Kasim urged the public to refrain from speculating about the incident to avoid hindering the ongoing police investigation.
