Selangor MB expresses relief, says state govt vindicated after Chegubard’s apology

PETALING JAYA: Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the state government is vindicated following Bersatu leader Badrul Hisham Shaharin’s apology over allegations against a Menteri Besar Incorporated subsidiary.

Amirudin said the apology proves that the allegations made by Badrul Hisham, better known as Chegubard during the 2023 election, was slander.

"We must reject this culture of slander practised by Perikatan Nasional," said Amirudin on Facebook on Monday (Jan 3).

Badrul, who is Port Dickson Bersatu chief, apologised in the Shah Alam Sessions Court over a defamatory statement regarding the Selangor Maritime Gateway project.

He admitted that the allegations made against the subsidiary, Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd were baseless and expressed regret over the statement.

The subsidiary filed a lawsuit on Aug 8, 2023.
