THE name of Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau can be seen etched on a temple building in Selangor, leading to speculation that he is a patron, Sin Chew Daily reported.
Visitors to the Tian Hock Kung temple at Taman Teluk Pulai, Klang, spotted a stone plaque on the temple exterior that indicated that it was donated by Lau and his wife, Carol Chu.
Another pillar at the temple read “Donated by Zhu Liqian and Liu Xianghui”, the names of Lau’s wife and daughter.
Sources in the entertainment industry claimed that Lau believed that praying at the temple helped boost his career, which is why he always provided financial support.
There had been earlier reports that Lau had visited the temple to pray for a child, but the actor-singer denied doing so.
Lau married Chu, who was a Malaysian model, in Las Vegas in 2008. They have one daughter.
> An elderly couple in Taiwan ended up in the hospital after holding their urine for over seven hours while caught in a traffic snarl, the daily also reported.
It all began when a man took his parents on a trip to Kaoshiung in southern Taiwan to celebrate Chinese New Year. But there was massive traffic congestion, so his parents were unable to answer the call of nature.
When they finally had access to a toilet, the father found that he was unable to pee. The mother managed to do so but complained of a painful sensation.
His father was diagnosed with a distended bladder while the mother was found to have a urinary tract infection.
Cathay General Hospital urologist Cai Shuwei advised travellers to limit their water intake two hours before embarking on a long journey and avoid drinks containing caffeine, as it could hasten the urge to urinate.
