Malaysians come together to celebrate MCA Chinese New Year open house

KUALA LUMPUR: The attendance of Malaysians from different walks of life at the MCA Chinese New Year celebration has touched the heart of Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

“I’m very touched with the guests who had come as early as 8am to see the Lion Dance performance and followed by the open house,” said the MCA president here.

He added that despite the event being celebrated in moderation, the spirit of unity amongst the people made the open house more meaningful.

“I would like to wish a Happy Chinese New Year to the Chinese community as well as all Malaysians from all walks of life,” said Dr Wee.

Also present at the open house were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, MIC deputy president Datuk Seri M Saravanan, former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, and Chinese ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing.

Dr Wee also thanked the distinguished guests and party leaders who had come to join MCA in celebrating the event held at Dewan San Choon in Wisma MCA, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.
