Syukur 2025 aid rolled out for Sabah’s poor

KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) has introduced the Sentuhan Kasih Rakyat (Syukur) 2025 programme to ensure that the poor and hardcore poor are not left out.

Its executive secretary Datuk Mohd Razali Mohd Razi said the initiative will identify and register eligible recipients, whose names will be submitted to the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) Secretariat for disbursement.

He said the coalition's machinery will be mobilised across all state constituencies for this purpose.

"The mechanism for the Syukur 2025 programme has been approved by the state Cabinet and will be implemented immediately, as directed by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor," he said in a statement on Sunday (Jan 26).

Under the programme, heads of poor and hardcore poor households in Sabah will receive RM300 in monthly assistance, paid out quarterly.

Syukur 2025 is part of the state government’s efforts to ease the cost of living, complementing federal cash assistance initiatives such as Rahmah Cash Assistance (STR) and Rahmah Basic Assistance (Sara).
