Thunderstorms and heavy rain forecast for eight states


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds across several states in the peninsula until 11.59pm Thursday (April 16).

Affected areas include Langkawi, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu in Kedah, as well as the whole of Penang.

The warning also covers Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang, and Muallim), Kelantan (Gua Musang), Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis and Raub) and Selangor (Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor and Hulu Selangor).

In Negri Sembilan, the areas affected are Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Jempol and Tampin) as well as Segamat.
