Elephant spotted in neighbourhood in Johor

PETALING JAYA: An elephant, standing about one-storey-tall, made an unexpected appearance in Taman Seri Impian, Kluang, Johor.

In a 40-second video shared on the Kluang Hari Ini social media page, the elephant was seen strolling along the road, passing houses, and waving its trunk as it went by.

The origin of the elephant or how it ended up in the neighborhood remains unknown, but the caption indicated the sight was recorded at 2:13am on Monday (Jan 27).

Internet users were quick to express concern for the large mammal, with many commenting on its apparent sadness.

"Pity. Maybe it recalled that the place once its habitat is now a neighbourhood," wrote Instagram user lina77165.

"Jungles are destroyed to build factories and houses. Where are they to go? It's not their fault," added user mikeyessudas.

The video has since garnered almost 7,400 likes on Instagram and over 300 comments.
