Traffic on NSE remains smooth ahead of Chinese New Year

PETALING JAYA: Traffic on the North-South Expressway (NSE) is smooth on Sunday (Jan 26), three days ahead of Chinese New Year next Wednesday (Jan 29)

As of 11.05am, checks on traffic cameras showed most parts of the highway to be smooth-flowing, except at KM147.5 in Juru, where traffic is heavy in both directions, and at KM278.3 in Seremban, heading southbound.

The exodus to hometowns is expected to pick up pace by Monday (Jan 27), as many return to their hometowns for the reunion feast on Tuesday (Jan 28).

Drivers are advised to exercise caution as rainfall in many areas has made roads wet and slippery.

In conjunction with the festival, highway users will benefit from a 50% toll discount nationwide from January 27 until midnight on January 28.

The discount applies to Class One personal vehicles at all toll plazas, except at national border tolls, namely the Sultan Iskandar Building toll plaza on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) and the Tanjung Kupang toll plaza on the Second Link to and from Singapore.
