Body believed to be of missing elderly man found in Kluang plantation


KLUANG: A body, believed to be that of an elderly man missing since last Wednesday (Jan 15), was discovered in a plantation area here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the body, along with a black motorcycle, was found at an oil palm plantation in Kahang, Kluang, around 6.24pm on Thursday (Jan 23).

"The body was discovered by a foreign worker at the oil palm plantation.

"The body was found lying by the roadside near a motorcycle with a registration number matching one belonging to a person reported missing since last Wednesday (Jan 15)," he said in a statement on Friday (Jan 24).

He added that police also found personal items and clothing believed to belong to the man.

"The body has been sent to Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Kluang for a post-mortem to confirm the identity of the deceased," he said, adding that the case has been classified as a sudden death.

It was earlier reported that a 73-year-old man, identified as Lee Siew Hat, was reported missing after going to his oil palm plantation.
