JOHOR BARU: The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) has crippled an illegal diesel trading operation following a raid under Ops Tiris 4.0 in Ulu Tiram.

Johor KPDN director Lilis Saslinda Pornomo said the operation was carried out by the ministry’s enforcement division after intelligence gathering on Thursday.

She said enforcement officers raided an industrial premises believed to be involved in the business and wholesale of diesel.

“The premises does not possess any valid licence to carry out diesel trading and wholesale activities,” she said in a statement.

Lilis Saslinda added that the syndicate is believed to be using a legitimate business front as a diesel wholesaler, obtaining supply from licensed companies before selling it to transportation firms without proper authorisation.

During the raid, authorities seized about 10,300 litres of diesel, a skid tank, a complete fuel pump set including nozzle and hose, as well as several transaction-related documents.

“The total value of the seizure is estimated at RM85,736,” she said, adding that a local man in his 60s was detained to assist in investigations.

The case is being investigated under the Supply Control Act 1961 and the ministry remains committed to strengthening enforcement efforts to curb the misuse of controlled goods.

Lilis Saslinda urged members of the public with information or complaints on fuel misappropriation to contact KPDN’s official platforms, including its WhatsApp line, e-complaint portal, call centre, or the Ez ADU KPDN mobile app.
