Woman claims father has been raping her for past 10 years

IPOH: A 21-year-old factory operator has lodged a police report claiming that her father has been raping her since she was 11.

Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Adnan Basri the report was lodged by the victim at about 11am on Jan 21.

He said the victim claimed that she was raped by her father, a farmer, at a house in Changkat Jong, Teluk Intan.

"A team from the criminal investigation department arrested the suspect at about 1.45pm on Jan 22.

"Investigations revealed that the victim works as a factory operator in Teluk Intan and is not married.

"She claimed her father had been raping her since the age of 11 and last raped her on Jan 17," he said.

ACP Ahmad Adnan said the victim also claimed that the suspect had threatened her not to say anything.

He said after the last incident on Jan 17, the victim ran away and stayed with a friend.

"Her friend advised her to lodge a police report," he said, adding that the suspect divorced his wife when the victim was six years old.

ACP Ahmad Adnan said the victim was referred to the Teluk Intan hospital for further examination on Jan 22.

He said the suspect has been remanded for seven days until Jan 29.

The case is being investigated under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code.
