LOCAL celebrity Sissy Imann is asking fans to give her a chance as she steps into the role of host for the 39th Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL39), a position she sees as a blessing from God.
Despite facing criticism and doubts about her abilities, Kosmo! and Harian Metro reported that Sissy, 30, remains optimistic and believes her selection is a result of divine intervention and prayers by her loved ones and supporters.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Sissy expressed gratitude for the opportunity, which fulfils her long-held dream of hosting AJL.
“I understand there will be mixed reactions. Please give me a chance, OK? Pray for me, God willing,” she said.
Previously, Sissy hosted Muzik-Muzik 36 for a year and was the red carpet host for the same event.
“When I was told about it, I couldn’t believe it! All of this didn’t come easily,” she added.
Sissy will co-host AJL39 with Naz Rahman on Feb 16 at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil.
AJL39 will feature 10 songs competing for the top prize, including performances by artistes such as Hael Husaini, Aina Abdul and Ernie Zakri.
> Sinar Harian reported that an elderly woman has been fined RM1,000 by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) for disposing of rubbish outside a designated bin.
She was identified through footage captured by a CCTV installed near the rubbish bin.
In a statement, MBPJ said it remains committed to combating illegal rubbish disposal within its jurisdiction.
“As a firm measure, MBPJ issued a compound on an elderly resident in Jalan PJS 6/3, which stipulates a fine of RM1,000,” it said on Sunday.
Additionally, MBPJ will conduct regular monitoring to curb such activities.
“Legal action will be taken against any party or individual found violating the regulations set by the authorities,” it added.
