Body of newborn found outside Rawang surau


KUALA LUMPUR: The body of a newborn baby girl was found on the grounds of Surau Al-Hidayah in Kampung Melayu Pekan Rawang, Selangor.

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said the body was found by a member of the surau congregation, who then alerted the police at 2.36pm on Thursday (Jan 16).

"The baby was dressed in a white outfit, wrapped in a blanket, and still had its umbilical cord attached. The body has been sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for further action," he said in a statement.

ACP Noor Ariffin said the case is being investigated under Section 318 of the Penal Code for secretly disposing of a child's body.
