Man suspected of raping 14-year-old girl arrested in Johor


SUBANG JAYA: The suspect in a statutory rape case has been caught in Johor following investigations inton a report lodged by the victim's doctor.

When contacted, Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said that the arrest was made Thursday (Jan 16) at 12.01am in Kulai, Johor.

"The suspect is 22 years old and had gotten to know the victim via social media.

"A remand period of seven days has been obtained, untul Jan 22," he said.

On Jan 10, the doctor filed a police report after treating the 14-year-old girl.

The doctor found that the victim was 10 weeks pregnant and suspected that she had been raped by her boyfriend.

The victim had been sent to the clinic for a check up by a friend as she feared telling her parents.
