Flashpoint: Pixman arrested for alleged assault on fashion designers


PETALING JAYA: A 30-year-old male photographer was detained for allegedly attacking two fashion designers.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Shahrulnizam Ja'afar said the incident occurred during an event attended by the victims aged 53 and 47 at a hotel here on Wednesday (Jan 8) night.

"The suspect had injured the victims' faces and was detained at the scene of the crime.

"We also seized a camera, believed to have been used as a weapon during the incident," he said in a statement on Thursday (Jan 9).

The suspect has been remanded until Friday (Jan 10), he said.

"We believe there was a personal issue between the suspect and the victims.

"We are investigating under Section 324 of the Penal Code for causing harm with a weapon.

"We expect to charge him for the offence on Friday," he said.
