Storm warning: Heavy rain, thunderstorms forecasted for eight states until 8pm


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department released a thunderstorm warning at 4:30pm on Tuesday (Dec 24).

The advisory, which was effective until 8pm, said the areas that are expected to be affected by heavy rain and strong winds include Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Batang Padang and Muallim), Pahang (Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Raub, Bentong, Temerloh, Bera and Rompin), Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling, Hulu Langat and Sepang), Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Jempol and Tampin) and Johor (Segamat and Mersing).

Additionally, Sarawak: Kapit (Belaga), Bintulu (Sebauh), Miri (Beluru, Telang Usan and Marudi) and Limbang, and Sabah: Pedalaman (Sipitang, Tenom and Nabawan), Tawau and Sandakan (Tongod, Telupid and Kinabatangan) are also expected to experience the adverse weather.
