Nursery worker detained for suspected abuse of baby

KUALA LUMPUR: A woman has been detained over alleged abuse and mistreatment of an 11-month-old baby boy at a nursery in Puncak Alam, Selangor.

Sungai Buloh OCPD Supt Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor said the 24-year-old woman, who has been working at the nursery for three years, was arrested at district police headquarters at 6.50pm on Saturday (Dec 14).

He said police also obtained CCTV footage and had recorded statements from four people in the course of the investigaiton.

The woman has been remanded until Wednesday (Dec 18) for investigation under Section 31(1)(A) of the Child Act 2001. – Bernama
