PKR amendments have enhanced digitalisation, says Fahmi

SHAH ALAM: Amendments to the PKR constitution will ensure fairness by promoting inclusivity through ethnic and gender quotas while embracing digitalisation in the party's election process, said Fahmi Fadzil.

The PKR information chief said delegates have approved key constitutional amendments aimed at increasing representation and enhancing inclusivity in the party's election process.

He said the amendments allow for a higher number of physical delegates to attend congresses during election years, enabling them to vote for the party’s top leadership and members of the Central Leadership Council (MPP).

Additionally, a portion of branch-level party members will now be eligible to cast their votes for top leaders online.

“These changes ensure that the principle of representation includes ethnic and gender quotas, promoting inclusivity so no ethnic group is left out or excluded from the election process,” Fahmi said during a press conference following PKR’s special congress on Sunday (December 15).

Fahmi emphasised that the amendments underline PKR’s commitment to fairness and digitalisation in its election process.

“The principle of online voting at the branch level has been firmly established, ensuring greater participation from members across various states, ethnicities, and backgrounds,” he said.

He expressed hope that these reforms would encourage broader involvement of party members from all walks of life in shaping PKR’s leadership.
