Traffic ops in KL leads to over 300 summonses issued


KUALA LUMPUR: A traffic operation in the city has led to over 300 summonses being issued.

In a statement on Wednesday (Dec 10), Kuala Lumpur Deputy Police Chief DCP Datuk Azry Akmar Ayob said the operation which began on Tuesday (Dec 9) and continued until around 12.30am on Wednesday resulted in 319 summonses from the police.

An additional 92 summonses were issued by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and 55 by the Road Transport Department (JPJ).

Checks were conducted across the city, including Jalan Bukit Bintang and Jalan Imbi.

"The aim of the operation is to enforce road laws on road users found obstructing traffic and those blocking traffic flow by parking illegally."

He added that similar operations, especially in the Bukit Bintang area, will be conducted weekly to ensure compliance.
