Father jailed for raping eight-year-old daughter in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: A man has been sentenced to a 15-year imprisonment and ten strokes of the rotan for raping his young daughter.

The man was convicted of raping his eight-year-old daughter on Dec 3, and a few times prior to that.

The year two pupil from Sabah’s Tongod district during a heartfelt sharing session in school revealed the terrible secret of being raped by her 40-year-old father.

Her mother upon learning of the rape lodged a police report on Dec 6 and the accused was arrested at his house at 10.30am on Dec 7.

The man pleaded guilty at the Sandakan Sessions Court on Thursday (Dec 12) for raping the victim at a house in Tongod, at around 2pm on Dec 3.

The victim is currently receiving treatment and counselling.
