Malaysian receives Diana Award for outstanding work on environmental sustainability


PETALING JAYA: Malaysian Ho Wei Liang has been recognised as one of the recipients of the Diana Award for his passion for leveraging technology to address global challenges.

Established in memory of the late Princess of Wales, the award is given out to those going above and beyond in their daily life to create and sustain positive change.

Diana Award chief executive officer Dr Tessy Ojo said Ho has developed innovative solutions such as wildfire disaster management systems and assistance tools for the visually impaired, using AI, LoT and drone technology.

"He is the founder of the 'Global Sustainability Organisation collaborating with young leaders across Asean to deliver tech solutions for NGOs worldwide.

"We warmly congratulate our new Diana Award recipients from across the world who are dedicating their time to making positive change," said Ojo in a statement.

"These young people demonstrate the power to change the world, a belief also held by Princess Diana.

Diana award recipients have been nominated by adults who know young people in a professional capacity and want to recognise their efforts to make a positive contribution to society.

The award received over 1,700 nomination submissions this year.
