Fake news: Pahang Palace denies any wedding involving Tengku Mahkota Pahang in April next year

KUANTAN: The Pahang Palace has denied any Royal Wedding Ceremony involving Tengku Mahkota Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah in April next year, Malay language daily Sinar Harian reports.

Comptroller of the Royal Household of the Sultan of Pahang Major-General Datuk Mohamed Zahari Yahya said that a fake post on the matter was uploaded to the Instagram account with the name Faridah Daud (@faridah.daud_1).

According to him, in the post, the woman claimed that she will be getting married in April next year and falsely named the Tengku Mahkota Pahang as her partner.

"The Pahang Palace has several times detected defamatory posts uploaded by the same individual," he said in a statement Tuesday (Dec 10).

He advised the public not to believe any statements uploaded other than through the official portal of the Pahang Palace, istanapahang.my, and social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Youtube using the name Sultanate of Pahang.

Meanwhile, he said stern action could be taken against the individual or any party found to be making any defamatory posts or disrupting the harmony, especially of the Pahang Palace.

Previously on Oct 3, Sinar Harian reported that the Pahang Palace had denied rumours about a Royal Wedding Ceremony involving Tengku Mahkota Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah with a woman as circulated on social media.

The claim began to spread after a post was uploaded to Instagram by a user using the account name "Farida.1111111" on Sept 24.

The post displayed supposedly information about the "Royal Wedding Ceremony between Tengku Hassanal and Ms Farida Daud".
