Body in suitcase: Victim was male with no ID, say cops


KAJANG: The body found stuffed in a black suitcase in Cheras Perdana is that of an unidentified man, police said.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof said the body was discovered by residents at about 11.45am on Tuesday (Dec 10).

"They smelled something foul that led to the discovery of the suitcase and the body at the side of the road.

"The suitcase contained a male body without any identification," he said in a statement, adding that the remains were sent to Hospital Serdang for a post-mortem.

"The autopsy will be conducted at 9am on Wednesday (Dec 11)," he said.

The case has been classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

"We urge those with information on the case to contact investigating officer Asst Supt RK Umesh at 012-6114900 or go to the nearest police station," ACP Naazron said.

It was reported that residents in Cheras Perdana were shocked by the discovery of a black suitcase on Tuesday morning.

It is understood that there was a body stuffed inside the suitcase, from which a foul smell emanated.

The locked suitcase, which was also tied with a red cord, was placed by a large drain.

The smell, with flies and maggots surrounding the suitcase, raised suspicions among the residents.

The incident was recorded by an individual at the scene and a 23sec clip was uploaded on X.
